"Everybody's somebody in Luckenbach," the saying goes, and it makes sense; in a town this small, it's tough to be nobody. Waylon made it famous, but if you've only heard the song, you need to visit for the full Luckenbach experience. From the official Web site:

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday features the Hill Country Musicians Jam - afternoons and evenings. Bring your instrument of choice and join in with musicians from near and far out back under the oak trees or inside around the pot bellied stove depending on the weather. You never know who might stop in.

A beautiful town with a thriving main street full of shops and restaurants, Fredericksburg is a treat for hill country visitors. The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce's calendar details all the fun to be had.

Pedernales Falls State Park is a beautiful area offering camping, picnicking, hiking, river swimming, tubing, wading, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching and horseback riding. Even if you're here during the sometimes chilly hunting season, it's still a wonderful place to visit.

The Admiral Nimitz State Historic Site is in Fredericksburg. From the Web site: The only institution in the continental United States dedicated exclusively to telling the story of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz and World War II in the Pacific Theater.
